Q&A

  • My main responsibility at Cambio is to make sure that what we develop has a high level of semantic interoperability. Which in very simple terms means that systems speak the same language and communicate with each other. Semantic interoperability is achieved by implementing international and national standards for exchanging and storing health care data as well as applying the proper terminology.

In a typical week, I spend most of my time working with applying these kinds of standards, more specifically HL7 FHIR and openEHR, in some shape or form. It could be creating FHIR-profiles or creating openEHR-templates for example. I also participate in national work groups regarding these standards to contribute to a national strategy of how we should apply them in a Swedish context. Additionally, I take part in several different projects where my expertise is needed, which is a bit all over the place whenever healthcare data is stored, retrieved and exchanged.

  • Health informatics isn't something you start to work with without any previous experience or knowledge. You can either
gain the knowledge by studying health informatics at university. I got my degree at Karolinska Institue for example. Or you can gain knowedge by working within the eHealth domain and move towards more informatics-related topics such as system integrations.

    1. A recovered climate
    2. Semantic interoperability for everyone!
    3. I would like to travel to Iceland someday and see whales
  • The company culture at Cambio is very friendly, caring and welcoming. The organization is quite flat and I love that because it enables an environment where you're encouraged to participate and share your opinions.

  • I get to work with informatics at a company that truly values the importance of informatics—which is something very rare in my experience.
