Software Engineer within Identity and Access Management

The Position
Are you passionate about security and identity in complex systems? Are you looking to solve multi-faceted problems coordinating identity solutions across multiple enterprise systems and stakeholders? We are looking for someone to implement a centralized IAM solution across our diverse portfolio of healthcare software products, as well as collaborate with our enterprise architecture and ITOps teams to help design technical and service solutions.
We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Identity and Access Management, preferably with Red Hat Build of Keycloak (RHBK) and other modern IAM technologies. This role is critical to building the technical implementation and to contributing to the operational service model for our next-generation IAM solution.
You will work across product teams to understand diverse requirements, lead the modernization of legacy IAM systems, and drive the consolidation into a cohesive, enterprise-grade solution. You will work as a part of our containerization team tasked with centralizing common services and coordinating deployment across several cluster configurations. You must be a great collaborator, with the ability to coordinate and consolidate different requirements from a variety of internal stakeholders and customers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with multiple roles on the design and development of a unified IAM platform across multiple enterprise products.
- Implement scalable, secure, and compliant IAM solutions using modern technologies (e.g., RHBK, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM).
- Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Design operational models for IAM services including provisioning, monitoring, incident response, and lifecycle management.
- Define and implement access policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and identity federation strategies.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party IAM tools and services where appropriate.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to IAM best practices across the organization.

Requirements
- Proven experience in designing and implementing IAM solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with RHBK or related technologies.
- Deep understanding of authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP).
- Experience modernizing legacy IAM systems and consolidating disparate solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud IAM (AWS IAM, Azure AD, GCP IAM) and hybrid environments.
- Experience with Java, in particular with how it is used for RHBK adaptations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
It’s bonus if you
- Have experience with Zero Trust architectures.
- Have knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PDL) as they relate to IAM.
- Are familiar with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Place of employment: Linköping or Stockholm
Scope: Full-time, hybrid work model (three days per week in-office)
Form of employment: Permanent employment, 6 months trial period
